upper
division electives:
The
Department of Biology and Microbiology has an extensive
list of courses which may be used as electives for Biology
undergraduates. For a list electives that biology undergraduate
students can take within the biology department see the
current University catalog or contact the department. The
electives that biology undergraduate students can take outside
the biology department are listed below.
In general, when you choose your 32 units of upper division
biology electives, select them based on interests and career
goals. Think about what you want to do after you graduate
before you start taking these electives because certain
courses are more helpful in specific career goals.
This list may be updated by the department on an annual
basis if other non-biology courses are approved by the entire
department faculty. Most of these courses have prerequisites.
Refer to the current Cal
State, L.A. University Catalog and consult with the
instructor of the course to determine if you may enroll
without the prerequisites.
You should always see your advisor before choosing your
courses!
