employment statement

CEA-CREST fellowship and research assistantship amounts are set to cover the cost of tuition and cost of living so that students may devote their full time and attention to their academic studies and their research. However, some students may wish to augment their salaries and gain additional experience through employment. Students may do so, but In order to receive full stipends at prevailing rates, students may not exceed more than an average of 10 hours per week throughout the year of teaching assistantships or other employment. Employment exceeding this time-base may result in a reduction or loss of the CEA-CREST fellowship or research assistantship, if a student's faculty advisor and the Program Director determine that it is hindering a student's progress towards a degree. On a quarterly basis, students are required to report this information to the CEA-CREST Program Coordinator.
