student attendance policy

for fall coffee hours, winter and spring seminars, and annual conference:

If a student has more than one unexcused absence within a quarter, a $50.00 reduction will be made to his or her stipend for the month in which the second absence occurs.

In order for a student to be excused, the outreach coordinator must receive written (email included) notification from the student's advisor and the program director no later than 24 hours prior to the event.

If there is an emergency or valid reason for a student to be excused on the day of the event, the student must inform his or her advisor following the absence and ask the advisor to contact the outreach coordinator (in writing) regarding the special circumstance for the absence.

To receive credit for attendance at each event, students must sign-in for themselves on the designated sign-in sheet (usually near the refreshment table). Students may not sign in for other students.

Students who do not attend at least half of the entire time period of the event will not receive credit for attendance.
